The Gravensteen castle in Ghent

Posted 1 year ago by sasha in response to sunnyride's question: Does Gent have any castles to visit? (give a different answer) .

Smack in the heart of the city...can't overlook it. It's the castle that belonged to the 12th century counts of Flanders, The Gravensteen castle, as they call it. I paid 5 euros for a visit, but it was free for my little girl two years ago, I believe. Go before 6 pm, cause the gates are sealed in the evening, and charge the batteries of your digital camera ! :)
