The Atomium of Brussels

Posted 1 year ago by avatar marcelus in response to avatar firestar's question: Question: how does that Atomium in Bruxelles look like? and what is it, after all? (give a different answer) .

It's a huge model of a molecule, enlarged 165 billion times...Mybe for Chemistry buffs the Atomium is something, but it doesn't stir me up at all...I've been three times to Brussels, but I didn't feel the need to pay 6 euros just to walk under the giant iron molecule...You can see it from the distance, every time you go near the Boulevard du Centanaire, it's like the Eiffel Tower in France... How did it get there? It's a leftover of the 1958 World Fair. Take metro Heysel or tram nr. 81 if it sounds good!
