chikka's question:
Is there any point in Bruges where you can climb in order to have a view over the city?(give a different answer) .
Exploration of Bruges starts from the Belfort tower, it's actually a must to go there for a panoramic view...You missed that, you missed Bruges. The tower is set in the Markt, the central square of the town, that fits neatly into an oval-shaped series of canals. Be prepared to climb the 366 steps of the Belfort in order to achieve the panoramic dream! Oh, and go there before 4.15 pm, cause that's the time they sell the last tickets (5 euros for adults, free for children)...
